[DUG] History Tabs?

That is I.
Actually the purpose of DCM is not to make the IDE run faster or crash less.
The fact that this happens is pure luck and is worrying for Borland.
The IDE is designed to be very modular so I think "forcibly" is a bit harsh.
The main problem was that Together was doing things when it wasn't supposed
to be. This was because of a huge design flaw in how together was integrated
into D2005. Most of the performance issues were related to Together and some
at the .NET integration. Although the refactoring support relies on .NET, as
does the Data Explorer now days - if only that got fixed to actually be
useful. (I have some sore points with Delphi as well:
http://qc.borland.com/wc/qcmain.aspx?search=1&first=Jeremy&last=North
although you won't be able to see all of the reports I made, some are
private - like the 60 odd automated ones for when Delphi has crashed for
me). Actually I'd be interest to know if people see all 200 reports with
this link because that'd mean there is a bug in the web client (why people
wouldn't want to use my client is beyond me though <g>).
I'm actually glad I use StarTeam to track all the defects and suggestions I
have received from DCM actually. (Previously I used VSS for source control -
for many many years <g>) It has definitely helped me prioritise my work
(given that it's done in my spare time).
There is an update coming because there were so stupid bugs in Version 2.
Don't worry about donating, while 2.x will remain free, I'm going to charge
a little for version 3+ as it is taking a lot of development time. Which is
amazing when I think back. Version 1 took me 4 hours on a Saturday to
complete. Why can't people be happy with vanilla, instead of wanting french
vanilla!
Version 3 is really geared at development teams though so won't be
applicable but the 2.x branch will get any bug fixes for free anyway.
Although it will come with the "you should upgrade because it looks
prettier) GUI changes <g>.
cheers,
Jeremy

Oh By the way Jeremy, The Delphi Configuration Manager ( I believe you wrote
it? ) is an excellent tool for delphi. Really makes it a lot more useful.
Talking about free software.. I'm even tempted to donate.
But surely this proves what I am talking about with the features that had to
be taken out forcibly to make it more effective.
If you did write it... KUDOS, if not.. there someone out there using your
name...
