I gotta agree with the D8 sentiment - D8 traumatised most people who
used it. But your eyes must blink slowly :-) There is a year between
each release! If we were XP we'd release a new version every day! :-)

Certainly Borland is not the instigator of this kind of thing. To quote
a friend "Revenue Assurance" is what it should be called, not "Software
Assurance". In NZ we are supposed to be assured that the product we buy
will suit the intended purpose. If it does not suit the intended
purpose, it should not have been sold, or the remedies should not be
oncharged to the duped client.

Microsoft is absolutely a marketing company first, and revenue driven.
Borlands biggest reason that kept people to them was the fact that they
provided quality and a good expectation of quality. This process of
garnering revenue without concern to what is released it not a step
forward. We are getting releases of delphi faster that I can blink
eyelids. People who bought delphi 8 were conned. It was gone before you
could take it out of the shrinkwrap, and being forced to upgrade to
d2005, I say forced because we are forced by faulty products to keep on
spending in the hopes of a better version.

I could probably rant about the economics of it for a lifetime, so I
better cut it short.

Richard probably stopped listening long ago anyway :) (besides, its
hardly his fault)
