Those are the tough ones to consider.

1) Chrome ( works on windows & mono, pascal based ) for all visual apps
2) Java ( for all non-visual server based app)

I almost never write 2-tier client to database applications. I almost 
always have the database (S) and a non-visual middleman busieness object 
server, which communicates in interacts with the various gui modules. So 
I'f I was moving I would probably use java for a flexible server 
platform, and Chrome for a flexible client that works on MAC and 
Windows. I use proprietary messaging protocols over TCP so the Java/ 
Delphi or Chrome is not a large barrier compared to Java Beans or COM.
